Ever tried to count all the various superheroes Hollywood puts on the big screen these days? It’s tough to keep up with them all (Britannica shortlisted 46 of them).
We’d like to point out one hero Hollywood forgot.
Irrigation Man isn’t the only landscaping hero that deserves a role from Marvel or D.C.
Here are a few other landscaping jobs that qualify for superhero status, too:
- Weeder Woman
- Mr. Unfreeze (aka Snowplower)
- The Invincible Interiorscaper
But all these heroes prefer Carhartt over capes.
And yes, we’re having a little fun here, but there are more heroics involved in landscaping careers than you might imagine. These men and women are literally “world builders,” creating attractive environments where patches of dirt and overgrown weeds once reigned.
And that's only mentioning the visual appeal (which helps property values soar higher than Superman). There’s more to it, though.
Landscaping heroes make properties safer, more welcoming, and give families fun things to do outside without the worries of pests or harmful UV rays.
Let’s look closer at the value that landscapers create.
If Hollywood Made a Movie About Landscapers
What’s the criticism that even die-hard movie fans have about superhero blockbusters today? Hollywood just recycles the same plotlines.
Not our words. Those are straight from true movie fans.
- “Same origin story for the 3rd time, just different actors”
- “Hero faces villain with identical powers but bad intentions”
- “A glowing object threatens to destroy everything” (fans call it a MacGuffin)
So, if Hollywood did make a movie about heroic landscapers, maybe some fresh ideas would help?
Start with Ryan Reynolds and Zoe Saldana. Why? Landscapers are known for being likable and versatile, and those noteworthy actors fit that mold.
The flip side is having a fearsome supervillain. Without a powerful villain, the superhero can never reach their full potential. That principle holds when an experienced irrigation tech faces a brutal drought.
How about Samuel L. Jackson for that type of villain, then?
He’s not afraid of hard work (roughly 146 film credits). He’s played a villain before. And Jackson is a Hall-of-Fame actor. He’d be believable as someone trying to destroy Earth by releasing dandelion seeds from a space station.
That’s just one idea for a plot, by the way. The tagline could be:
“Two humble landscapers join forces against an evil genius threatening Earth’s beauty and food supply with a new strain of dandelion seeds that would cover half the land masses in 48 hours.”
Would fans buy it, though?
Real Superpowers Irrigation Techs Have
Relatability is key to a blockbuster superhero film. And that’s great, because you can see superpowers in every type of career in the green industry. Take irrigation technicians, for example.
Three impressive things about the professionals who manage irrigation systems:
- They save more water than Aquaman on his best day.
- They can detect water leaks like Superman hearing a distress call half the world away.
- They enhance more turf and protect the environment better than Captain Planet.
Irrigation careers truly are great for folks who love the outdoors, want to learn a valuable skill, and enjoy creating attractive landscaping. Here are few more upsides of an irrigation career:
- Average salary is higher than most other positions in the green industry
- High demand and job security
- Positive environmental impact
- Room for advancement
- Wide range of roles
Yellowstone Landscape has irrigation tech job openings right now - check them out here.
And we don’t even have time to list all the “evildoers” that Yellowstone Landscape pest control teams protect innocent people from, such as:
- Fire ants - they attack children and pets
- Termites - can literally bring the house down
- Grubs - never met a front yard it didn’t try to devour
Beyond skills and training, there’s something deeper in store with green industry jobs.
Quality People Are in High Demand for Landscaping Careers
Landscape professionals have a lot in common with superheroes. First, landscaping careers provide real purpose. No different than Batman’s purpose of trying to fight crime in honor of his parents. Or Black Panther honoring his ancestors’ traditions and skills.
Landscapers make properties inviting to families, park goers, athletes, and employees. Many come from a long line of proud groundskeepers.
Furthermore, landscapers help keep invasive species from harming beneficial plants and trees. And Irrigation Techs keep plants healthy while saving customers money on water bills.
Are there other noble purposes involved with landscaping jobs?
We think protecting the planet through sustainable practices and ongoing education for sustainable strategies is pretty noble work.
Succeeding with Yellowstone Landscape
Without quality landscaping employees and irrigation managers, untold natural resources would be wasted daily.
And make no mistake about it,the people who do lawn care maintenance, plant installation, and irrigation repair are tough individuals. It takes true grit to work in 100-degree weather with the sun beating down. They also endure wet weather at times, and frigid winters.
Beyond that resilient spirit, landscapers are known for problem-solving prowess and unmatched teamwork.
Other people might “Hulk out” while repairing a leaky sprinkler head or changing a mower belt at the end of a long work day. Yet, landscaping pros take pride in keeping a level head and lending a hand to their co-workers.
Closing Credits
