Tim Portland

Chief Executive Officer

Tim Portland became the CEO of Yellowstone Landscape in late 2012 and has led Yellowstone to record safety, customer satisfaction, and growth performance. During that time, Yellowstone has expanded across the Southern United States, striving to deliver Excellence in Commercial Landscaping to demanding customers who value the benefits quality landscaping delivers. Tim serves on the Board of Directors of the National Association of Landscape Professionals (NALP), and chairs NALP’s H-2B steering committee. He also serves on the Board of the Seasonal Employment Alliance (SEA), an advocacy organization pushing hard for congressional reform of seasonal worker visa programs and the overall US labor situation. Prior to joining Yellowstone, Mr. Portland was the CEO of United Subcontractors, one of the largest installers of insulation and other building products in the country. Over a ten-year period, he was the President of several divisions of Scotts Miracle-Gro, including the Ortho and Roundup brand, Scotts LawnService, and Scott’s International Professional business.  He previously was an executive with Scientific-Atlanta (now part of Cisco), and a management consultant with McKinsey and Company. Tim holds an MBA from the University of Virginia’s Darden Business School, and an undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College.

Elise Johnson

Vice President, Human Resources

Elise Johnson has been Yellowstone Landscape’s Vice President of Human Resources since joining the company in 2010. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Dickinson College, before completing a Master’s Program at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. Before joining Yellowstone, Ms. Johnson held similar positions at several financial services firms in New York.  As Vice President of Human Resources, Ms. Johnson’s responsibilities include overseeing Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Employee Engagement, Total Rewards, and compliance.

James Herth

Vice President, Business Development

James Herth is Yellowstone Landscape’s Vice President of Business Development, a position he accepted in 2014, after joining the company in 2011 as Branch Manager in the Jacksonville branch location. Mr. Herth is responsible for the growth and development of the company, overseeing the Business Development team. A twenty-year industry veteran, Mr. Herth is a licensed Arborist and holds a bachelor’s degree from Siena Heights University.

Brian Wester

Regional Vice President

Brian Wester is Yellowstone’s Regional Vice President, responsible for providing leadership to operations across the Southeast. Mr. Wester joined the company in 2003 as an Account Manager in Palm Coast, Florida. In 2004 he was promoted to lead the landscape installation division and later that year he was promoted to District Manager and launched our Orlando operations. From 2005-2010 Mr. Wester started and managed multiple branch locations in the Orlando market. In 2011 Mr. Wester was promoted to Regional Vice President for our Georgia and South Carolina operations. In 2019 our Florida operations were added to Mr. Wester’s responsibilities and make up the Southeast Region. He holds an Associates of Science degree in Golf Course Operations, Bachelor of Science degree in Business/Finance and will earn his MBA from the University of Florida in the spring of 2020.

Jim Sivils

Regional Vice President

Jim Sivils joined Yellowstone Landscape in 2010, having previously owned and operated successful tree care and landscape company for more than 20 years in Houston, Texas. In his current role as Regional Vice President, Mr. Sivils is responsible for the landscape operations of all Yellowstone’s branch locations across the state of Texas.

Chris Adornetti

Vice President, Accounting

Chris Adornetti has been with Yellowstone Landscape since June of 2015. In his role, Chris oversees the day to day accounting and finance operations of the company. Prior to joining Yellowstone, Mr. Adornetti spent 7 years at Harte Hanks, a publicly-traded marketing, data analytics, and logistics company.  Here he advanced through his tenure into positions of increasing responsibility. Prior to Harte Hanks, he worked in public accounting and internal audit. Since joining Yellowstone, Mr. Adornetti has overseen multiple projects to increase efficiency and further solidify Yellowstone’s financial stability while adhering to generally accepted accounting principles. A two-time graduate of the University of North Florida, he holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, along with a Master’s in Business Administration. Chris, an avid beach volleyball player, spends the majority of his free time with his wife and two children soaking up the sun at the beach in our nation’s oldest city.

Timothy Sherman

Vice President, Finance

Timothy Sherman leads Yellowstone Landscape’s Financial Planning and Analysis team and has held various roles within the company’s operations and financial divisions since initially joining the company as a Project Manager in 2008. A graduate of the University of Florida, he holds a degree in Accounting and is presently enrolled in an Executive MBA program at Jacksonville University. In his role, Mr. Sherman leads a team of regional analysts supporting operations and is responsible for qualitative and quantitative analyses and recommendations on key issues or potential actions that may have a material impact on the company.
