Opening its North American headquarters in 2018, this auto parts company created a corporate campus where the outdoor spaces are strengthening its brand image. The 102,000-square-foot state-of-the-art facility sits on a lush 24.6 acres outside of Nashville. The innovative facility can house over 600 employees and is constantly expanding. Already the number one industry provider in the U.S., the business growth shows no signs of slowing. The evidence is easy to spot with weekly arrivals of new trainees eager to help propel this company into an even brighter future.
Challenges
This campus’ most common challenge is something we think a lot of owners and managers of similar properties can relate to, and we’ll get to it in a bit.. First, let’s look at other less commmon property challenges in this case study. Wind and erosion are issues to manage with the property sitting on a hillside (with a 60-foot gradient difference across the property). Even the entrance to the employee parking lot has a fairly steep incline, which makes snow and ice management more critical in a region with heavy snowfall potential.
The facility is in constant “expansion mode” as the business is experiencing impressive growth. That means our company’s service team has to stay abreast of changing needs as new construction is planned. Increased traffic on and around the property presents challenges to maintenance scheduling and safety concerns for the client’s personnel and Yellowstone Landscape crews.
Branding is a high priority for this client, as they fly in trainees from all over the country. They expect their campus to “shine” in all aspects, with turf color and quality being one of their main objectives in their green spaces. The biggest pain we hinted at? A never-ending flow of heavy trucks regularly damaging both plant material and irrigation components, resulting in recurring leaks.

Branding Done Right
Although countless properties across the U.S. may resemble this handsome corporate campus, this one has chosne to use outdoor spaces as part of its brand. Neat, tidy, organized, and ready for business. From the attention paid to the attractive turf areas to impeccable landscape beds, this property upholds the brand image at every turn.
Fortunately, Yellowstone Landscape has a branch office just down the road from this property. That makes it even more efficient for us to offer personal service that many clients are surprised to find from a national landscape company our size. Our branch manager calls Nashville home just like most of the facility’s staff does. Awesome results come easier when the manager understands local weather patterns, and the potential for ice storms—plus, they knows native plants and grasses best suited for Nashville landscapes by heart.
What helps our company just as much? Knowing this client takes incredible pride in its brand image. Just the awareness that their green spaces have unlimited potential to bolster their brand reminds us how vital the role landscapers play for businesses and property owners. Our crew members already take immense pride in the craft of landscaping. But when they see a customer appreciate the visual branding power of the outdoors, it’s a breath of fresh air.
